Bhagat Singh - The Famous Patriot

Bhagat Singh 
                    ( birth; 7th sept., 1907) ( death; 23rd march, 1931)

             Many Indian patriots used arms to throw over the British rules. Though these attempts were unsuccessful, they have an important place in the history of India's freedom struggle. Many of these patriots became martyrs. One such great martyr was Sardar Bhagat Singh.He is also referred to as shaheed( martyr) Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Singh was born at Banga in Layalpur district of Punjab. All his family members were patriots and nationalists His uncle Ajit Singh was deported for nationalists activities. Bhagat Singh father's also suffered imprisonment for patriotism. After completing his primary education at banga, Bhagat Singh went to Lahore for further education.


He joined the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic high school and obtained founded Naujawan Bharat Sabha. He ran from his home because the elderls were planning his marriage. He wanted to devote his life for the freedom of India. In 1924, shacheendranath Sanyal had founded. Hindustan Republican Association had 15 members including Chandrashekhar Azad, Sukhdev, Batukeshwar Dutt, Rajguru, and jeetendranath Das. Sukhdev work was making bombs, obtaining pistols and raising funds and organizing the rebels. Chandrashekhar Azad was their inspiration. Bhagat Singh's participated in kakoji conspiracy, the plan to loot the Punjab national bank at Lahore and to murder Mr. Scott who lathi charged Lala Lajpatrai and throw a bomb on assembly. in the last two plan, he was the leader. lala lajpatrai had arranged a procession against the simon commission. Mr. scott, the then police superintendent had lathi-charged lalaji, which caused lalaji's death. To take revenge, Bhagat Singh planned to murder Mr. Scott, but due to an error, Mr. Saunders was murdered instead. On 8t April 1929, Bhagat Singh and his companions threw a bomb in the assembly from the gallery which caused great panic. they also threw red circulars in the hall and gave the slogans 'Long Live Revolution'.
                For the assembly bomb incident Bhagat Singh got life sentence and for murdering Mr. saunders, death  sentences was passed upon him He was hanged in the lahore jail on 23rd march, 1931. Bhagat Singh was just 24 when he sacrificed his life for the motherland .
